In a future where almost all land mass is underwater, your only choice for survival is the open seas. Raft for Mac pits you in such a situation and lets you fend off marine threats. Once you download Raft Mac OS X and start playing it, you find yourself on a small, 2×2 flotation device. The ocean is a harsh place to be in, especially when you only have a hook, to begin with. But things immediately start improving once you start reeling in debris.
A barrel here and there, pieces of plastic or planks, even a palm frond if you’re lucky enough. Of course, food and water are on top of your list of needs. In Raft, if you wish for your character to make it to another day, that is. You can purify water and grow your own food, just make sure those pesky seagulls are not cleaning you out.

Everything that you collect is usable in one shape or form. You can upgrade your raft so that it is sturdy and can better resist shark attacks. The waters are full of them and will either attack you while swimming or take bites out of your vessel. Building new items is also possible with scavenged items. A net or a weapon will certainly come in handy in such a tight situation. Since Raft Mac OS X sets the story in a vast environment, there is a lot of exploring to do. Now and then, you may come across an island from where you can collect some unique materials. Also, hidden under the shallow waters of some coasts there are some uncommon items you can find by diving. This open-world survival for Mac is definitely worth trying out as it offers a great adventure for every age and size.
